Share Joy this Holiday Season
This Season of Sharing, you can help bring warmth, hope, and dignity to veterans and families in our community—ensuring no one faces the holidays alone.
Winter is here, which means colder days, falling snow, and the excitement of the holiday season. For many, this time of year is filled with comfort, celebration, and togetherness. But for too many veterans, children, and families in our community, the holidays bring uncertainty instead of joy.
Close to home, families are stretching every dollar, choosing between warmth and nourishment. Parents worry about giving their children a holiday to remember. Veterans are feeling alone, carrying the weight of isolation during what should be a season of connection.
But there is hope — and it starts with you.
This Season of Sharing, you can create a meaningful impact right here at home for neighbors like Joseph, a United States Navy Veteran.
“I didn’t have a place to go. I was dealing with addiction and working through mental health challenges. I needed help. Being here, it really helped being around other veterans. I had a great case worker who believed in me and connected me with resources to get me back on my feet. I just got approved for my apartment and I’m feeling great, looking forward to a whole new chapter.” – Joseph, U.S. Navy Veteran

“I’m excited for him because I know his story and what he’s been through. Joseph is proof that this program works if you stick with it.” – Khamisi Jordan, USMC Veteran, Program Director, BBA, Veterans Resource Center (Cleveland), VOA Ohio & Indiana
Your kind heart can help ensure no one faces the season without comfort or care.
Here are three simple ways you can share hope this holiday season:
A gift of any size helps bring warmth, stability and dignity to veterans, individuals and families right here in our community.
Use our Giving Guide / Host a donation drive.
Download our Giving Guide and adopt a wish-list to support those who are struggling in your community. You can organize a group (friends, coworkers, church, scout troop) to collect items, raise funds, or donate items on your own.
Send a Message of Hope to those we serve.
Write a note encouragement for someone who might feel forgotten this holiday season. You’ll remind them they are seen and valued.
The Season of Sharing is about sharing warmth, joy, and dignity with neighbors in our community. When you donate, write a message of hope, or donate from our wish list, you’re surrounding veterans, families, and individuals with love. You’re telling them that you care. Because every act of kindness brings our community closer together.
