Legacy Giving

The Hope Project:

Where Your Love & Legacy Can Change the World

Legacy giving is smart giving. A legacy or planned gift can become a truly impactful way to ensure access for all to health, housing, and human services at Volunteers of America.

The Hope Project is a blueprint for the future of human services. It supports and builds opportunities for all people to reach their full potential and thrive by focusing on the keys to well-being. The Hope Project is supported by people who build their own loving legacy to sustain a healthy and equitable community for the next generation. The amazing humans in The Hope Project ensure every person in our community can live with social, emotional and physical well-being, spiritual fulfillment, justice, and most importantly hope.

Your love has the power to transform the future for generations to come.

How does a legacy gift to The Hope Project help? We can only think of Maya Angelou, who says it best, “(Your) Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.”

Why should your legacy be any different?

Here’s how you can join The Hope Project :

A gift in your will

Whether you designate a specific amount or leave a percentage of your estate, your legacy gift will empower more people to reach their full potential.  We’ve partnered with Freewill to help you create a will if you’re just getting started.

Non-cash assets

Donating certain non-cash assets like real estate can provide significant tax benefits while advancing our mission to reach and uplift all people in our communities throughout Ohio & Indiana.

Beneficiary designations

Your retirement plans, life insurance policies, Donor-Advised Funds, foundations, and annuities can all help support the unique needs of people who are working to achieve well-being in your neighborhood.

Qualified charitable distributions

If you are 70.5 or older, you can give up to $100,000 per year from your IRA. If you are subject to a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), an IRA gift can help you meet your RMD while lowering your taxable income.
