This Veterans Day, Remind Our Heroes That Someone Has Their Back
Veterans who gave so much for our freedom are struggling to get by and wondering if there is any help out there for them. Your kindness can help them find a way forward with hope.
Too many veterans are just one event away from falling into crisis. One job loss, one unexpected medical bill, one family emergency and everything they worked so hard for after serving their country is taken away.
That was David’s story. After 18 years of service in the Army, he returned home safely and built a beautiful life.
But sometimes, struggle sneaks up on you.
David’s wife lost her job after 17 years. With little to no savings or support available, things got tough — fast. David knew they needed help or they would end up on the street. But he didn’t know where to turn.
Thankfully, he could turn to you. People like you lifted him up and helped him and his family find a way forward out of crisis towards stability.
This Veterans Day, you can be there for more men and women like David when crisis hits.
Your kindness will meet them with nourishing meals and warm beds, mental health services and employment support, housing, and so much more!
But, of course, your compassion goes further than that. Your being there in their moment of need is a reminder that after everything they gave to serve their country, someone still has their back.
Will you remind a veteran they’re not alone in their struggles this Veterans Day?
You can be there for someone in crisis and show them that, yes, there is a way to move forward with hope.
