Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana is pleased to announce the hiring of Christine Swarm as Vice President of Development.

Christine is returning to VOA Ohio & Indiana, where she previously served as Director of Development from 2018 to 2020. Christine is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and an active leader in the fundraising field, serving on the board of the AFP Indiana Chapter. Prior to rejoining the VOA team, Christine built an impressive track record of fundraising leadership across the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served as Director of Women’s Philanthropy at the Indiana University Foundation, where she helped grow and strengthen women’s philanthropy efforts, including the launch of initiatives like the Women’s Philanthropy Circle.  Before that, she served as Executive Director of the 500 Festival Foundation, where she led fundraising strategy, donor relations, grants management and events, and guided the organization’s first large-scale capital campaign.

“I’m honored to return to Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana and contribute to an organization with such a strong mission and dedicated team. VOA’s commitment to meeting people where they are with compassion, dignity, and hope is what makes this work so meaningful. I look forward to partnering with our staff, board, donors, and community partners to grow the philanthropic support that allows more individuals and families to thrive.”
