A Special Treat for Your Pup
Give some love to your four-legged-friend this month with our DIY rope toy.
August is National Dog Month—a time to celebrate the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy our furry companions bring into our lives every single day. Whether they’re fetching a ball, snuggling on the couch, or simply wagging their tails at the sound of your voice, dogs make life better in countless ways.
In this month’s blog, we’re celebrating National Dog Month with something special: a simple, fun, and budget-friendly DIY dog toy that your pup will love! Not only is it a great way to bond, it’s also a fantastic alternative to store-bought toys. So grab your supplies (and maybe a few treats), and let’s get crafting!
DIY Dog Rope Toy:
Step 1: Gather your items.
- Scissors
- Fleece, t-shirts, or material

Step 2: Measure and cut 4 strips of fabric into strips roughly 2 feet long and 2 inches wide.

Step 3: Tie the 4 strips of fabric together in a knot at one end.

Step 4: With the knot at the top as your starting point, lay out the four strips away from the knot in 4 different directions.

Step 5: Take the 2 vertical pieces of fabric and fold them over in the opposite direction, leaving a couple inches of slack to create the weave.

Step 6: Take the perpendicular pieces and send them through the “holes” of the vertical pieces.
Step 7: Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have 4-5 inches of fabric strips left.
Step 8: Tie off the end.

Step 9: Give to your pup to enjoy!

We hope you and your furry friend have a blast with this easy DIY toy! Celebrating National Dog Month doesn’t have to be expensive—sometimes, the best gifts are the ones made with love (and maybe a little bit of upcycled creativity).
