Formerly homeless veterans with Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana received an incredible Veterans Day surprise from The Home Depot Foundation on Thursday, November 11.

After opening the Fresh Start Recovery Center, an addition recovery center for pregnant women and new mothers, a little more than a year ago in Columbus, IN, Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana announced that they have served more than 100 women and their children from in and around Bartholomew County.

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana will benefit from $375,000 in grant funding from United Way of Central Indiana’s Family Opportunity Fund, which aims to reduce generational poverty in Central Indiana.

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana is excited to announce the grand reopening of VOA Thrift at a new location in the same shopping center on West Henderson Road.

Merged organization will provide housing and addiction recovery services to more than 23,000 people.
