What your car donation means
One in five homeless adults is a veteran. This number is so disproportionate that the number of homeless Vietnam-era veterans is even larger than the number of service persons who died during that war. At Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio, we've made it our mission to change that statistic. Here in Cleveland, we see the faces you could be helping every day. These are the veterans who served our country, but now they need a little help form you. By donating your automobile in Cleveland, you are directly affecting positive change in the lives of the individuals and communities that we serve. Donate your car, truck, boat, motorcycle or RV to receive not just a tax deduction, but the chance to change someone's life today.
More about Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio
Volunteers of America is a national, non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and gain independence. Through thousands of human service programs across the state, more than 34,000 people, including 6,000+ in Cleveland alone, are helped.
The services that Volunteers of America provide are a lifeline for our clients. The individuals that we serve are some of the nearly 62,000 veterans that remain homeless on any given night. At the Cleveland Veterans Resource Center, we offer multiple programs to get veterans back on their feet. Our transitional housing provides a long-term, structured environment with supportive services for homeless men and veterans working toward self-sufficiency. We also provide the mental health treatment and participate in Stand Down resource fairs.
Our Walton Avenue Housing Program in Cleveland also provides crucial assistance like homeless outreach, where we engage homeless men and women on the streets to provide for their critical needs like blankets, food, clothing and transportation to shelter services. Cleveland's emergency shelter for men offers safe and temporary shelter while transitional housing for men offers long-term assistance. By providing our clients with basic needs like food and a warm place to sleep, we aim to achieve our ultimate goal of stable housing and employment. By donating your car in Cleveland, you are supporting the programs that keep our clients afloat and bring them hope.
